Did you know that the longest continuous Hockey Game in the U.S. is played in Ridgefield, CT? (more about that later).
Join us on March 19th for an exciting Sunday afternoon watching the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Islanders affiliate) play the Hershey Bears. The game starts at 3PM, but we will plan to leave Ridgefield around 1:30PM. In order to keep things simple, we will try to carpool and purchase our tickets at the game. Tickets range from $20-49, but we will target a block of tickets in the $20-$30 range. Children are welcome to join us.
Back to the longest continuous hockey game. Ridgefield has a rich hockey history with the Winter Garden arena, including very strong Boys and Girls Hockey teams. Chad Krys from Ridgefield was drafted in the 2nd round by the Chicago Black Hawks this past year and is currently playing for Boston University. This year, Ridgefield High School's Boys team has been ranked #1 in the state for much of the year and just won the Fairfield County championship. In May, each of the last two years, Play for Purpose has organized a 72 consecutive hour hockey game, with over 150 participants. The event has raised over $100k for charity.
