Pine Mountain Hike
Our first hike will be a local favorite, Pine Mountain in North Ridgefield. This hike, listed in the Ridgefield Walk book (available at Books on the Common), is described as “difficult, with some steep sections over rocks.” We’re going to extend the hike slightly by starting from Lake Windwing, so the total time will be around 2.5 hours. The hike reaches one of the highest points in the area, so we should enjoy some great panoramic views. Here are some guidelines for the hike:
- Please bring appropriate footwear: hiking boots, not sneakers or sandals.
- Please ensure you bring enough water, bug spray and trail snacks for yourself.
- Friendly dogs are allowed. They must stay on leash during the hike.
- This hike is probably too difficult for young kids; older kids are welcome as long as you’re sure they can keep up (or you can carry them).
There is no fee for this activity. RSVP encouraged but not required; you can just show up at 9am on Saturday Sept 10th. Feel free to email me at hikers@newcomers.org
