Bennett's Pond Trail System

Our December hike continues the theme of exploring some great hiking very close to home. The Bennett's Pond system starts from the parking lot on Bennett's Farm Road in North Ridgefield (see map link below). This will be a pretty easy hike, flat and only about 4 miles in all. Depending on how people feel we may extend the hike a bit by continuing onto part of the Ives Trail or by checking out Rainbow (Wataba) lake as well.

Here are some guidelines for the hike:
- We will set out at 9am sharp, please be on time!
- The hike will go on rain or shine; if in doubt please pack your rain gear.
- There may be some rocky and wet sections on this hike so please bring appropriate footwear: sturdy hiking boots not sneakers.
- Please ensure you bring enough water, bug spray and trail snacks for yourself.
- Friendly dogs are allowed as long as they stay on leash.
- Kids are welcome. If they can't make the entire hike, you can always turn back at any time (I'll provide trail maps).
- There is no fee for this activity.
- Please RSVP for the hike by registering for the event on the new http://ridgefieldnewcomers.org website.
- Email me at hikers@ridgefieldnewcomers.org or call me on 860-978-0644 if you have any questions.

We will meet at the large parking corral on the north side of Bennett's Farm Road approximately 3/4 mile before Bennett's Farm Road hits Route 7.

The trail map is here:
The Parking area on Bennett's Farm Road is indicated by the P at the bottom of the map.

Here's another map that may be easier to read:

Looking forward to seeing you at 9am on Sunday, Dec 11th!
