If there is a Winetasters event you don't want to miss, this one is it – this month we will make the Woodcock preserve our venue for a special night of camaraderie, fun, and great wines under the stars.
To all you true Newcomers who have not had a chance to visit, the Woodcock Nature Center is a non-profit, 149-acre state preserve in the heart of town. It is a true gem, and one of the true prides of Ridgefield and Wilton. The center features hiking trails, wildlife, amazing summer camps for kids, a sanctuary and rehabilitation center for injured wildlife including rare snakes, birds of prey, turtles, and more, as well as activities and education for adults.
This year Newcomers will be partnering with MOMS Club South to benefit two very important groups: the Woodcock Nature Center itself and the Ridgefield Emergency Fund, which provides food certificates, home heating fuel, electricity, clothing, and other basic needs for financially distressed local residents. All proceeds will be donated to the Center to support its work, as well as to the Emergency Fund. So, this event is more than a chance to visit with old friends and meet new ones - it is also a way to raise funds for the preservation of the Woodcock Nature Center and to support our neighbors.
To the sound of crickets chirping, we’ll gather under the outdoor pavilion in cozy sweaters, and cuddle under wool blankets on wooden benches centered around a roaring fire, as we enjoy a cup of hot mulled wine, hot hard cider, an assortment of delicious canapés, and any of a selection of premium fine wines. But more, we will enjoy the beauty of the unspoiled forests of backcountry Ridgefield and the company of fellow Newcomers. We will also reprise our very successful raffle, supported by our wonderful local merchants, so everyone will have the chance to win some wonderful prizes and learn a bit about the great shopping and retail throughout Ridgefield.

- $40 per person for drinkers, $30 per person for non-drinkers.
- Contribution includes 5 raffle tickets per person. Additional tickets will be available at the event - 5 for $10, 10 for $15, and 20 for $20.
- RSVP through the Newcomers website is required, payment via paypal preferred. Alternately, checks may be sent to the home of Winetasters chairs Ellen and Mike Bonheim, 85 Fulling Mill Lane.
