Has your fitness routine been disrupted during this time of social isolation? Do you need help and encouragement to pick up the routine again albeit in a different way?

Do you need a virtual exercise buddy or check-in buddy to help you stay accountable to a fitness goal?

We will hold weekly meetings to discuss fitness ideas and provide encouragement.  Ideas that we brainstorm will be listed below for those who can not attend the Zoom meetings.

OTHER IDEAS

Now that it's Spring, there may be turtle hatching to be viewed.  Near Lake Windwing is a possible spot.  Those with young ones may be interested.

Give fitness a purpose like collecting leaves or sticks to line raised garden bed or pick up garbage on a trail (May 1st is our neighborhood clean-up day)

Bike with kids in elementary school parking lots for safety, avoiding larger lots where kids practice driving to pass their drivers' ed. Tests

Pair an exercise like squats, plies, or counter push-ups to waiting for the microwave

Richard Simmon's has re-released his beginner videos on You Tube," Sweating to the Oldies" is a favorite

On bad weather days hit balls (tennis, Wiffle Ball, beach ball) against the inside of the garage with cars parked outside.  You never have to chase ball down driveway.

Jump rope (USA Jump Rope has DVD and training book plus a virtual jump competition)

If you have a treadmill, bike or rower, try it with a virtual treadmill videos on Youtube, (e.g. Ambient Collection, run in nature, walk through towns and parks all over the world, virtual horse riding in tropical paradise, etc)

Great for motivation are virtual races, very popular according to NYTimes 4/6/20 article--runtothefinish.com, rundisney.com,virtualstrides.com, and goneforarun.com
