What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register on our site or fill out a form. You may be asked to enter your: name, email address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information when you sign up as a member and when you sign up for participation in a paid club event.

How do we use your information?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways: To personalize your experience.
To process transactions like event registrations.To administer an event registration, survey or other site feature. T
o send emails regarding club activities and your membership status.

The email address you provide will be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your membership and event registrations, in addition to receiving occasional club news and related club information. Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include an unsubscribe option at the bottom of each email.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information. Password mandated login, encryption and security monitoring by our service providers.

We offer the use of a secure server when you use our website (but you need to be sure you have a secure clean browser to access the internet for your own devices protection).

All sensitive information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, meaning data is encrypted. Payment information is accessible only by those authorized with special access privileges to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your credit card information will not be stored on our servers. We have a Payment Gateway, managed by Wild Apricot’s Affinipay handling these transactions.

Do we use cookies?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture certain information. We use cookies to help us process event registrations.

If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function properly.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties, for example our Payment Gateway supplier, who assist us in operating our website, conducting club business, or servicing your requests. We may also release your information if required to comply with the law, to protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.

Third party links

We have third party links on our website regarding our town and what we hope are links our members will find helpful. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback if you have concerns about these sites.

Images on our website

We display photographs taken at club events on our website pages , on our social media pages and in other club media.  By attending events, you agree to allow the Newcomers Club of Ridgefield to display any event photos that may include your likeness in any and all club media. If you do not agree with an image of yourself being used, please inform the event organizer via the email link in the event for which you registered, so that you are not included in any candid photos that may be taken at the event and please do not pose for any individual or group photographs taken at club events.

If you do pose for a photograph at a club event you forfeit your right to have your likeness removed from club media and you give Newcomers Club of Ridgefield the right to use the photograph on our website, on our social media pages and in other club media, regardless of whether you have indicated you do not want your likeness displayed or not.

Your responsibilities

You may not share any information in our member directory with anyone. Each member can access the member directory for their own use to look up a member’s address when events are hosted at the members house, to look up a member’s email or telephone number in order to make contact regarding club events, or to contact board members.

You may not use club contact information to market your private business to other members. If you wish to advertise to members you can contact our advertising department to place an advertisement on our website or in our newsletter.

We may make changes to our privacy policy from time to time. It is your responsibility to revisit our Privacy Policy from time to time to remain aware of possible changes.
